Okay, I'm going to apologise now in case I offend anyone........

I HATE MY FUCKING JOB SO BLOODY MUCH I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO TELL YOU!!!!!!

(Okay, tantrum over! In case it wasn't obvious, I am NOT enjoying work today!!!!)
vikkik: (Default)
Okay, lets see....

The Gathering - This was extremely shiny, and great fun, despite my managing to be among the last to arrive on Friday, even though I had one of the shortest journeys! I got sunburnt on the friday, although not as badly as Liss and Ray, and the weather was rather evil by raining heavily on Saturday evening, just as we wanted to start the barbeque. However, Darren went above and beyond the call of duty and barbequed in the rain!! Anyway, I believe a good time was had by all!

Other things - I have a job interview on 11th August, for a library assistant job. And my extremely shiny mum has an interview for a part time library assistant job on Monday, so crossed fingers for both of us would be greatly appreciated.

EVIL computer!- My computer appears to be dying! It keeps uninstalling stuff, and doing weird things!

Update!

Well, 10 days till the Summer Gathering!
I shopped for some new tops, and have ordered a water pistol for the proposed water fight, so it'd better not rain now!!!!
And Kitty is staying with me on the thursday night, which is VAIR shiny (even if it DID mean I had to tidy up.....)
And my bunny came up with a wonderful bedtime drabble idea!

*bounces excitedly*

Well, my shiny shiny mummy found me a luffly job to applicate for, and phoned me at work to tell me about it.

Tis a full time library assistant job in Maidenhead, decent money, 37 hours per week, 28 days hol per year plus public holidays. So, in a short while I shall be asking everyone to cross their fingers for me again!

WHY?

vikkik: (Default)
Why are people the way they are? How can they DO things like this?
I realised today how much my friends mean to me, and how fragile life is. Thank goodness no one I know was hurt, but I know that not everyone was so lucky. Please all consider yourselves hugged very tightly.
vikkik: (Default)
Well, life today is even pooier than yesterday.
The phone rang this morning at about 7.30, and since the phone NEVER rings that early I knew what it was straight away. My grandmother died in her sleep early this morning. I KNOW that she was a good age (91 and a half) and that it's better for her really, and we knew it was coming, but it still hurts.

And I heard about the job.

I didn't get it.

The only bright spot is that we APPEAR to have a functioning broadband connection again.
(I'm not sure I trust it though)

Thank you all for the hugs on yesterday's post. I'm off to bury myself in them......
vikkik: (Default)
Okay, well, my life is officially a pile of poo!!!

Our broadband died on Monday last week (AGAIN!!!!) and is STILL not fixed (sneaking online from work here....)
I THINK the interview went okay on Friday, but I'm still waiting to hear.

Just before I left for my interview on Friday, the phone rang, and it was my aunt, to say that my grandmother is very ill and in hospital, and the doctors don't think she'll make it. I managed to get the weekend off work at very short notice, and we went to see her (she lives near Lincoln, which is not exactly a SHORT journey...) Seeing her like that was dreadful. And I'm worried how it's going to affect my dad. He never really let himself grieve when his dad died (the week before I was born, so 27 years ago) and I'm afraid that when my grandmother goes all the emotion he bottled up then is going to come back clobber him. and, well, basically life is crap, and I'm without my support network (aka; CBB/LJ/MSN)
So this is a shameless plea for huggles, even though I'm not gonna be able to read them till the stupid broadband gets sorted out!
*stamps foot*
Sorry for venting guys, but I've been bottling this up all week!!!
vikkik: (Default)
*sigh*

I have no energy!
Can't be bothered to do anything! I'm sitting here watching Bagpuss and regressing to childhood!!!!
vikkik: (Default)
Okay, I am being nagged to update! (a LOT!!!!)
*sigh*

Okay, well, our evil devil spawn broadband went wrong on Monday afternoon, and BT didn't fix it til Friday, so I was somewhat deprived and very ratty all week!!!

Now, lets see, Well, on Tuesday afternoon I got a phone call about the Library assistant job I applied for. I've been shortlisted and have an interview on Jine 10th! Which is VERY exciting, but also very wibbly!

The other job I applied for, in a further education college was a real cock up.
It was advertised as a full time post, but was actually part time (in fact, just 14 hours per week.....) They didn't realise their mistake until they started reading the applications and wondered why people on reasonable salaries, with full time jobs were applying for a part time position.......... *rolls eyes*

Anyway, I am wibbling everytime I think about Friday......

Well, thought maybe it was time to update again.

I've FINALLY uploaded an lj icon (after fighting my photo software for about half an hour!!) Everyone, meet Spike! (No, not THAT Spike Kat!!!! *rolls eyes*)

Job hunt is in progress, although they will probably decide they don't want me and throw my applications in the bin........

Oxford Gather tomorrow, which is EXCEEDINGLY shiny (although I am only able to go because my boss didn't check the diary properly before she signed my holiday form..... NOT my fault if she doesn't read things properly! ;))

*giggles*

Okay, I tried that automatic drabble thing, and got this.....

Joey finished packing. Ever since Jack, her own true love, had been lost at sea, Joey had been bouncy.

There was nothing left for her anymore, nothing bounced her, all was shiny. So today, Valentine's Day, she was going up a tree to become an excited electric toothbrush.

Just then, there was a jubilant knock at the door. Joey opened it and stood there merrily for a moment, before falling to the floor in a swoon and bruising her knee.

When Joey came to, Jack was holding her finger and looking silvery. "My love," Jack said shyly, "I'm sorry for the scared shock. I've been shipwrecked on a purple island for the last ten years, living like an elephant wearing a feather boa. I was only rescued last week." He paused. "I lost my belly button in the wreck. Can you still love me?"

Joey could hardly believe her Jack had returned. "I will always love you, belly button or no belly button. Besides, you can cover it up with a feather."

They embraced gently and vowed to never be parted again.

And all was happy.

c) How Will I ever be Simple Again - Richard Thompson ; a song about loss of innocence, and how you can't go back after seeing and/or doing some things

Gacked from katherine_b, pim2005 and liz_b

If there is at least one person in your life whom you consider a close friend, and whom you would not have met without the Internet, post this sentence in your journal.

Grin!
Will you all think me VERY sad if I admit that almost ALL of my friends are those I'd never have met without the internet?
vikkik: (Default)
Okay, everyone else is doing this, so I may as well, too!!!

1. grab the nearest book.
2. open the book to page 123.
3. find the fifth sentence.
4. post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog along with these instructions.
5. don’t you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! just pick up whatever is closest.

"He warns me not to let her speak to any strangers. If ever you see any attempt to speak to her, Joey, you must stop it somehow.. They don't want her to know anything about it, as he is afraid of making her nervous."

Happy Birthday Gempie!!!

Hope it's been a great one hunny!
